Jessica Janus, Therapist
Jessica Janus is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in New Hampshire who has been practicing since 2018. She earned a Bachelor’s in Psychology at Castleton University and a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Antioch University New England. We all have a story. Jessica believes our stories and experiences deserve a trusting space to process free from judgment. Within the therapeutic relationship, Jessica aims to empower individuals to honor their stories with empathy through nuances of language and self-exploration. When we are given a validating space to understand ourselves in relation to our experiences, we are capable of making meaningful changes in our lives. Through curiosity and collaboration, Jessica supports people’s natural ability to heal in the wake of hardship. Jessica considers her orientation to be integrative as she feels energized to blend talk therapy with holistic practices to activate different parts of our psyche, deepening self-awareness. Jessica incorporates aspects of Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Art Therapy, and Somatic Therapy. Over the past four years, Jessica has been privileged to work with veterans, first responders, and their families. Being able to open up dialogues, reduce mental health stigma, build trust, and connect on the unique behavioral health challenges within these communities has been an honor. She feels passionate about holding space for folks who make tremendous sacrifices for our personal freedoms and safety. It takes courage to lean into what doesn’t feel good or right. Just know that by acknowledging this and taking the time to reach out, you have begun the process of trusting yourself to endure and work through hard things. With utmost compassion, Jessica is eager and ready to meet you where you are on your journey as you share your story and connect to yourself in ways that support the worthwhile changes you want to make in your life. Jessica believes we bring a lot of our authentic selves into our work. So, when she is not practicing, she feels fulfilled when sharing stories, reminiscing, and spending time with her loved ones. Additionally, she loves hiking with her husband and their dog, traveling, practicing yoga, taking pictures, enjoying comedy, listening to music, and cooking.
