Peter McMullen, LAPC, is dedicated to helping individuals of all ages navigate their mental health challenges and achieve personal growth. Serving patients across New Jersey, Peter provides therapy to children, adolescents, adults, and elderly individuals, tailoring his approach to meet the unique needs of each client. Through a collaborative process, Peter empowers his clients to discover insights into their mental health, develop coping skills, and live authentically while maximizing their potential in all areas of life.
Peter specializes in supporting individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, PTSD, and trauma. He is passionate about working with those experiencing vocational rediscovery or transitions, as well as helping individuals manage relationship challenges, whether familial or romantic. Peter works with clients who face unique struggles, including school avoidance, sleep disorders, and ADHD, providing them with the tools and strategies to address these challenges effectively. His goal is to help individuals navigate these issues with confidence and resilience.
Using a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Exposure Therapy, Peter offers evidence-based treatments tailored to the specific needs of each client. He also incorporates Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) to help strengthen family dynamics and improve communication. Peter has experience working with a diverse range of populations, including those with autism spectrum disorders, developmental disabilities, and head injuries, as well as men, women, and the LGBTQ+ community.
Outside of his clinical practice, Peter enjoys spending quality time with his family and friends, exploring the outdoors, and passionately supporting his favorite sports teams. Serving individuals across New Jersey, Peter remains committed to helping his clients overcome obstacles, improve their mental health, and create fulfilling lives.
