Cara Dyson-O’Connor is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 15 years experience treating depression, anxiety, grief and loss, self-esteem, emotion regulation issues, stress management and reduction, bipolar disorder, relationship conflicts, and adjustment disorders. She is certified by the National Board of Certified Counselors.

Cara earned her Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology from Immaculata University in 2010. She brings extensive experience working with adolescents (ages 15 and up) and adults in a variety of settings including inpatient, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, group therapy, and individual outpatient counseling. Cara utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Reality Therapy, Grief Therapy, and Mindfulness Activities. Her approach is non-judgmental, mindful, and supportive – centered on helping clients recognize their strengths, build effective coping strategies, and strengthen support systems to create lasting change. Cara sees patients via telehealth only.

Cara has a particular passion for counseling survivors of narcissist abuse and supporting caregivers of loved ones living with dementia. Outside of work, Cara enjoys spending time at the beach, caring for her mother who has dementia, and connecting with family and friends.
