Maia Roper, Therapist
At the heart of my work is a simple intention: to create a space where you can show up as yourself, talk openly, and feel supported through whatever you’re facing. I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in Rhode Island and Massachusetts, with a Master’s degree from Simmons University. I use a blend of CBT, DBT, ACT, embodied mindfulness, TF-CBT, trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing, short-term solution-focused therapy, and strategies for executive functioning and behavioral modification. My experience spans work with children, teens, adults, families and couples navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, ODD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, attachment concerns, trauma histories, and life transitions. I also have a strong background in family systems work, foster care, in-home therapy, residential treatment, and psychiatric hospital social work. With consent, I collaborate with outside providers to ensure cohesive and supportive care.
I am easy-going by nature and like to bring humor, honesty, and authenticity into the room. I hold values rooted in compassion, humility, and personal empowerment, and I believe every client is their own greatest resource for growth. I will meet you where you are, support your pace, and also encourage steady progress toward your goals. When needed, I offer recommendations or referrals to best support your overall well-being. My approach is transparent, down-to-earth, and centered on helping you feel capable and grounded as you progress in your healing journey.
