Patrick Heap, Therapist
Patrick C. Heap is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Rhode Island who has been practicing since 2019. He has a BA from Providence College and a CAGS from Salve Regina. As a holistic counselor, Patrick provided a multidimensional approach of trauma informed care, providing a person centered, educational, supportive, and genuine human experience. Utilizing numerous counseling techniques (CBT, Motivational Interviewing, MDFT, DBT, MST, and others), Patrick supports people identify their own goals and helps in the creation and implementation of plans to make progress towards those goals. He has decades of experience supporting people ages 6 to end of life with numerous medical and mental health conditions. Patrick has the ability to hold a safe space for people to feel heard and explore what they want to do while they live with diagnosis ranging from trauma, anxiety, depression, bipolar, terminal illness, chronic pain, ASD, and other conditions. Outside of work, Patrick enjoys playing musical instruments, listening to music, gardening, practicing Shiatsu, and doing Tai Chi. He spends time with his wife and kids. They like beaches, bowling, billiards, role playing games, hiking, canoeing, and watching movies. He likes to read and continues to be inspired to learn about the human experience, our capabilities, and healing.
