Cassandra Sims, Therapist
Cassandra Sims, LISW-CP, is dedicated to helping adults in South Carolina navigate life’s challenges with evidence-based therapeutic support. She works with individuals facing anxiety, depression, PTSD, and later life transitions, providing compassionate guidance tailored to each client’s needs. With decades of experience in community mental health, Cassandra understands the complexities of emotional wellness and strives to empower individuals through practical coping strategies and mindfulness techniques. Cassandra is particularly passionate about supporting individuals experiencing grief, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and hoarding behaviors. She helps clients process loss, develop healthier thought patterns, and create structured approaches to managing overwhelming situations. By integrating Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), she equips clients with the tools necessary to foster resilience and personal growth. In addition to individual therapy, Cassandra offers couples counseling, helping partners navigate communication barriers, relationship stress, and emotional disconnection. Her client-centered approach focuses on fostering understanding and strengthening relational bonds. She also serves military veterans and first responders, recognizing the unique mental health challenges faced by these populations and providing tailored support to enhance overall well-being. A South Carolina native, Cassandra has been practicing since 1979 and brings a wealth of experience from both community and private practice settings. When she’s not working with clients, she enjoys reading, solving crossword puzzles, word searches, and line dancing.
