Lauren Parlato, Therapist
Lauren Parlato, LISW-CP, helps children, teens, adults, and seniors across South Carolina move through anxiety, trauma, and life transitions with steady, compassionate, evidence-based care. At LifeStance Health, she provides individual and family therapy for patients ages 6 and up, including children, adolescents, and teens, creating a safe and supportive space where people can build emotional resilience, strengthen relationships, and regain a sense of control over their mental health. Lauren is especially passionate about supporting young people and families affected by trauma, school avoidance, and behavioral challenges. As a TF-CBT therapist, she specializes in helping children and teens process traumatic experiences in healthy, developmentally appropriate ways while also guiding parents and caregivers with practical strategies that support healing at home. Her work with childhood behavior issues and trauma is rooted in understanding how early experiences shape emotional regulation, self-esteem, and long-term wellbeing. In her broader practice, Lauren focuses on ADHD, anxiety, and depression, helping patients develop skills to manage overwhelming thoughts, regulate emotions, and improve daily functioning. She serves individuals from diverse backgrounds, including those in adoption or foster care, people on the autism spectrum, and members of the LGBTQ+ community, and also offers additional support for other mental health concerns. Her approach blends Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based techniques, and family-centered interventions to ensure treatment is practical, collaborative, and tailored to each person’s needs. Lauren has been practicing since 2021 and brings a thoughtful, grounded presence to every session, emphasizing both clinical insight and genuine connection. She believes that therapy works best when clients feel understood, respected, and empowered to take an active role in their growth. Outside of her clinical work, Lauren enjoys diamond painting, reading, listening to music, spending time outdoors, hiking, camping, and strength training.
