Danielle Akins, Therapist
Danielle Akins helps individuals and families build practical coping skills, restore emotional balance, and move forward with confidence through compassionate, evidence-based therapy. She provides individual counseling to children, adolescents, teens, adults, and seniors across Tennessee, offering a supportive space where clients feel heard and understood while working toward meaningful change. Danielle is especially passionate about supporting individuals who have been recently discharged from a psychiatric hospital and those navigating disability paperwork. She understands how overwhelming transitions in care and complex systems can be, and she partners closely with clients to promote stability, continuity, and advocacy during these critical periods. Her approach emphasizes safety, collaboration, and clear next steps to help clients regain momentum in their recovery. Her clinical focus includes ADHD, anxiety disorders, and PTSD/trauma, with experience addressing mood concerns and life stressors that affect daily functioning. Danielle works with diverse populations, including individuals from adoption or foster care backgrounds, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and military service members and veterans. She integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and offers additional therapeutic approaches when clinically appropriate to meet each clientās needs. As a Licensed Professional Counselor at LifeStance Health, Danielle has been practicing since 2017 and is known for blending clinical expertise with genuine warmth. Outside of therapy, she enjoys traveling, spending time with animals, and watching action movies. Danielle proudly serves clients throughout Tennessee and welcomes those seeking mental health counseling for children, teens, adults, and seniors.
