Pam Slater, Therapist
My name is Pam Slater, and my journey into the counseling field began when I was a High School English teacher, teaching young adults who were 3 years younger than myself. As a result, the students quickly found trust in me, and opened up to me about their personal issues. Having already completed my B.A. in English Education at Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas, I returned to school to obtain my Masters Degree in Counseling at Texas A & M University. My counseling experience is very broad, and includes working with trauma survivors, Veterans, people struggling with anxiety, depression, mania, addictions, family and marital therapy, adolescent and child therapy, behavior modification, CBT, and DBT. Many clients report benefit from our sessions due to my genuine approach, unconditional positive regard, rapport building, active listening skills, as well as my ability to help clients navigate through difficult issues in a very safe and trusting environment.
