Melissa Romell, Therapist
When I think about mental health care, I want to provide a safe environment for my clients free of any judgment or pressure. I strive to be a very empathetic listener who believes in a client-centered approach to working through the various issues that may arise in their lives. I have a background in education as well as counseling. I am certified in school counseling as well as in professional counseling and therapeutic services.
I also am graduate degreed in sports medicine with a focus on sports psychology and have counseled athletes from age 10 through 18. I have worked in mental health care environments, such as outpatient PCP/IOP programs and inpatient care for adults and kids, on and off since December of 2016.
I have experience with general mental health as well as chemical dependency. I am licensed as a professional counselor and will have a secondary license in chemical dependency counseling fairly soon. I work with all types of clients from kids to older adult. I enjoy helping anyone that I can, but I would say I have more direct experience with kids and adolescents.
