Sarah C Phillips, Therapist
Sarah Schumacher is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist at LifeStance Health who helps teens, adults, and seniors across Texas manage emotional distress, build healthy relationships, and create meaningful life changes. Through individual, couples, and family therapy, she provides a safe, supportive space for clients to explore challenges and find strength in their personal journey. Sarah partners with clients to address a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, and substance use, using collaborative treatment plans tailored to each individual’s needs. Sarah is especially passionate about supporting clients through major life transitions and relational struggles. Whether working with couples to improve communication, helping adults navigate midlife or later life challenges, or guiding individuals in recovery from addiction, she approaches each session with compassion, insight, and practical tools for healing. Her experience with grief, trauma, and long-term mental health conditions like bipolar disorder or schizophrenia enables her to walk alongside clients during some of their most vulnerable moments with respect and care. Sarah integrates evidence-based methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness practices, and couples counseling into her work. She has experience working with first responders, military veterans, and individuals managing complex interpersonal dynamics. Her therapy style is grounded in emotional attunement and clinical rigor, helping clients shift patterns that no longer serve them while building resilience for the future. She also provides services in intensive outpatient (IOP) settings for those needing more structured care. Outside of her professional life, Sarah finds balance through regular workouts, outdoor adventures with her husband and their dog, trying new restaurants, traveling, and unwinding at the movies. She brings this same appreciation for balance and well-being into her clinical work. Sarah proudly serves clients throughout the state of Texas.
