Laura Russell, Therapist
Laura Russell helps teens, adults, and seniors across Utah navigate life’s challenges with compassion, authenticity, and expertise. She provides a safe, inclusive space where clients can explore emotions, strengthen relationships, and gain clarity about who they are and what they need. Laura’s approach is rooted in understanding the complexities of the human experience—whether clients are facing anxiety, depression, or the effects of trauma—and helping them cultivate balance, resilience, and self-acceptance. Laura is especially passionate about working with individuals who have Autism, ADHD, and those within the LGBTQ+ community. She understands how neurodivergence and identity can shape one’s sense of belonging, confidence, and communication. Through a deeply affirming and person-centered approach, Laura helps clients embrace their unique strengths, manage daily challenges, and connect more authentically with themselves and others. She also works extensively with individuals healing from trauma, offering a grounding and empowering space to rebuild trust and reclaim emotional well-being. Using evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness, Laura tailors treatment to each client’s personal goals. She is skilled in psychological and neuropsychological testing and offers spirituality-based therapy when aligned with a client’s belief system. Her experience extends to supporting first responders, individuals with neurodevelopment differences, and those managing life transitions or relationship challenges. Outside of her clinical work, Laura’s curiosity and creativity shine through her love of animals—especially birds—her passion for nature, and her joy in exploring new places like Yellowstone, Moab, and Glacier National Park. She also enjoys concerts, sports, and gaming with her family, embodying the balance and authenticity she encourages her clients to seek.
