Ashley Carter, Therapist
Ashley Carter, LRC, is passionate about helping individuals navigate the challenges of anxiety and depression by offering a safe, supportive space to explore emotions, build resilience, and develop lasting coping strategies. She serves clients across Virginia through LifeStance Health, offering personalized care for those seeking meaningful change in their mental health journey. Ashley works with teens and adults, creating a welcoming and nonjudgmental environment for those aged 15 through 40. With a foundation in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Ashley collaborates with clients to reframe negative thought patterns and promote emotional growth. Her clinical work is especially focused on supporting adolescents and adults who identify as LGBTQ+, as well as individuals navigating the complex experiences associated with adoption or foster care and those living with autism spectrum disorders or developmental disabilities. Ashley’s empathetic approach ensures that each person feels heard, respected, and empowered to take control of their mental health. Ashley is especially passionate about working with individuals who have experienced brain injuries, are part of military or veteran communities, or serve as first responders. Her work in these areas is grounded in deep respect for the unique pressures and traumas these populations face. She is committed to providing trauma-informed care that recognizes the resilience of her clients while offering practical strategies for healing and growth. Outside of her clinical work, Ashley enjoys traveling, discovering new cuisines, and getting lost in a good book.
