Miatta Selmelia Horton Nye, Therapy Clinician
Miatta Selmelia Horton Nye helps adults build stability, insight, and practical coping skills when life feels overwhelming, offering compassionate, evidence-based care to patients across Minnesota. Practicing at LifeStance Health, she supports adults navigating anxiety, depression, and trauma-related concerns with a calm, collaborative approach that blends clinical expertise with genuine care. She works with adults across early adulthood through later life, tailoring treatment to each person’s goals, values, and stage of life. Miatta provides individual therapy, couples therapy, and family therapy, and draws from well-established interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and couples/marital counseling. Her work commonly addresses anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, and PTSD/trauma, while also supporting relationship stress and life transitions. In addition to these core areas, she offers care for a range of additional mental health concerns to meet the diverse needs of her patients. A central passion of Miatta’s work is supporting individuals who are recently discharged from a psychiatric hospital. She helps patients transition safely back into daily life by strengthening coping skills, improving emotional regulation, and coordinating care to reduce the risk of relapse or rehospitalization. She is also experienced in working with Workers’ Compensation cases, providing structured, goal-oriented therapy that addresses mental health symptoms connected to workplace injury or stress while supporting functional recovery. Miatta welcomes adults from diverse backgrounds and serves military members and veterans, first responders, and LGBTQ+ individuals. Outside of her clinical work, Miatta enjoys cooking, cleaning, decorating, and hosting or attending social gatherings, finding balance and creativity in everyday moments.
Miatta Selmelia Horton Nye provides services with supervision.
